History

Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 186 (“District”) was created pursuant to a Corrected Order Dividing District Into Six Districts, adopted by Montgomery County Municipal Utility District No. 140 (“MUD 140”), as authorized by House Bill 1492, 83rd Session of the Texas Legislature, Regular Session.

The District is part of a master district system serving the Highlands Community, which is comprised of a total of six municipal utility districts. The District is the “Master District” and constructs, finances, operates and maintains regional water, sewer and drainage facilities to serve the other “Internal Districts,” being Montgomery County Municipal Utility Districts Nos. 140, 187, 188, 189 and 190. Currently, MUD 140 is the only actively developing internal district.
